Maintenance Roadwork – Tuesday, 2/17

Maintenance road crews will be on the roads today… – Westbound Highway 12 at the Wisconsin River (near Sauk City).  Right lane closed 9am – 3pm – Eastbound I-90, just north of Janesville.  Right lane closed 9am – 2pm Give ’em a brake.

Snow Plowing Update

From the City of Madison… 32 salting and sanding crews have been out since around 11pm last night. Salt and salt brine is being applied to main arterials, main connector streets, streets that Madison Metro runs on and streets around schools and hospitals. Crews will continue to salt and plow until those roads are no longer slippery… Read more »

Janesville Fire Department

The Janesville Fire Department will be conducting fire training exercises today (1/16/15) on several houses on Milton Avenue in Janesville…It is possible that there may be traffic congestion or temporary delays while the burn is in progress. Traffic on Milton Avenue will be diverted during the exercise.

McFarland Police in Oregon

Today, Wednesday, January 14, two McFarland Police Officers (in marked McFarland PD squads) will be patrolling and providing primary police response in the Village of Oregon from 6am until 6pm. 2014…A Little Safer on the Roads

Streets Clean-Up

The city of Madison Streets Division has been hard at work clearing the most heavily traveled roads after the overnight snowfall.  Main streets have been salted, but falling temperatures will soon force a switch to sand.  Blowing snow is also causing problems in open areas and the Streets Division is paying particular attention to those spots…. Don’t Look Now…Here Comes Winter Weather!

Get ready for the return of winter to the Madison area this weekend.  We are expecting freezing rain and sleet throughout the day on Saturday, changing to accumulating snow on Saturday night into Sunday morning.  The National Weather Service says that hazardous driving conditions are expected to develop over the weekend.
